As a Matryoshka Doll collector, the pinnacle of my cute and non-traditional find was the Disney inspired Beauty and the Beast set I picked up from a street vendor in St. Petersburg. If I had access and money on my side, I'd use both in spades in order to get my hands on one of these little pretties, made for Russian Vogue:
Okay, so the Giles one creeps me out more than a little bit - it's like Pinhead meets dominatrix style. My favorite is this glam wooden gal by Roberto Cavalli:The hair! The glasses! The sexy wraparound snake! Move over Faberge, this is my idea of the perfect Russian work of art!
